What is the best thing about Roveena?

"Animal Lover – I am a vegetarian! I truly am an advocate for animals and do my best to limit the use of products that could hurt or endanger animals"

When did you discover your talent?

"As young as a year old! My parents used to record me singing to ABBA songs on cassettes! We still have those cassette tapes"  

Where did you get your inspiration/who was your inspiration? and why?

 "I find this question always hard to answer, cause I have come across many people in my life that have inspired me. The interactions we have in our lives always lead us to a path that comes from the inspiration that we experience from time to time"

Who is your favourite artist? and why?

"I have so many but hands down Celine Dion & Whitney Houston. I literally would listen to their albums as a  child and strived to reach her vocal capabilities. I truly feel that is how I honed my vocal abilities and got me to where I am today." 

Have you worked with anybody with a celebrity status? 

"Not yet!" 

Who would you like to work with?

"Ah! Too many to note down! "

Tea or Coffee? 

"Neither! Water all the way"

What do you sing in the shower? 

"I actually don’t sing in the shower. Mainly because I am in and out of the shower so fast and spend most of my other time singing!"

Is there an artist in the UK you would like to work with? 

"I don’t really have one in mind!"

What is your biggest achievement?  

"Singing the Canadian National Anthem and the US anthem at the Rogers Centre (formely known as the Skydome) for two Major League Baseball games! It was such an amazing experience!"

Whats in the future for Roveena? 

"I am near completion of my first EP – so looking forward for everyone to hear my first original project!"

Things really kicked off at the o2 this evening! The lovely James Corden did a fantastic job of presenting the BRITS tonight, and the new BRIT awards designed by the one and only Peter Blake who looked extremely cool too!

Here is how tonights awards went on...

British female solo artist - Adele (of course)

International male - Bruno Mars

Critics choice awards - Emile Sande

British Single - One direction, this was their first BRIT award, they were put together by the Xfactor judges after auditioning as solo artists and they eventually came 3rd in the competition. They bagged this award for their single 'Beautiful'

International Female - Rihanna who has won this award two years in a row

British male solo artist - Ed sheeran (Sporting a shirt and tie which makes a rather nice change from his hoodies and jeans!)

British group voted for at Radio 2 - Coldplay which is the third time they have walked away with this award with one in 2001 and the other in 2003 making this their 7th BRIT award

Best International Group - Foo Fighters

Best British breakthrough act - Ed Sheeran

Best international breakthrough artist - Lana Del Ray

Outstanding contribution to music award goes to none other than the legendary Blur! Sharing the title with David Bowie and The Beatles amongst others it comes as no surprise seeing as they have been in the music industry for 21 years. Their first appearance on the BRITS was back in 1995 and they have bagged 5 BRITS in total, they dedicated their award to Chris Morrison who made Blur the band they are today.

George Micheal presented Best album award after his life threatening illness recently, the award went to Adele, Surprise Surpise! Who sadly got cut short by James Corden this didnt please the crowd very much but the show must go on...Well done to Adele!

Performances

Coldplay kicked off tonights show with a performance of Charlie.

Florence and the machine also performed no light no light which wasnt breathtaking in a good way
it seemed a little too 'Kate Bush' for our liking however those high notes were outstanding

Rizzle Kicks and Olly Murs didnt wow us either with a rather dull performance. Such a shame
as the collaboration in theory is quite suited.

Ed Sheeran showed the boys how it was done after Emile Sande's quick mention for winning
critics choice award, performing lego house so effortlessly

Noel Gallagher is up next performing with, no not Oasis but frontman of Colplay Chris Martin who was
on piano

Next up is Bruno Mars who did a very 'Motown' rendition of 'Just the way you are' Massive fan of this
performance probably the best so far!

Rihanna performed with an amazing set - Paint EVERYWHERE! wearing a sweatshirt and what
appears to be timberland boots, I can only describe this look as the 'decorating day' outfit! Sexy yet weird?

Blur ended the night performing Girls & Boys, Song 2 and Park Life where Phil Daniels managed to join them on stage
although it was nice to have Blur back on stage im sad to say it wasnt their best performance.

Beautiful Tributes went out to Amy Whinehouse and Whitney Houston during the course of the night.

Best Dressed

BeAsians best dressed goes to Jessie J and Rihanna who wore show stopping outfits Revealing yet extremely sexy! Not only were all eyes on them at the BRITS they were also the talk of the grammys too, their designers have done an amazing job!

What is the film about?

This ghoulish thriller tells the story of a young immigrant from india, who feels that London will be able to fulfil his dreams and create a future for him, little does he know he just took a seat on a bumpy roller-coaster. whilst this young asian finds love on the underground, a simple phone conversation changes his life forever. 

What are people saying?

After watching '7 Welcome to London' Joe Mirza, Managing Director for Bollywood Films expressed: "I was very excited and had to be acquiring the film at the earliest. This film is set to break new grounds in home grown talent and caters to our solid Bollywood loving audience. Get excited for a new era in British Asian talent." 

The film also marks the debut of British Asian VJ Asad Shan in this upcoming Hindi romantic thriller. 

Who is Asad Shan?

Asad Shan is a British model-turned actor. In 2004 he was crowned Mr. Asia UK. After graduating from university with a degree in Law, Asad went to New York to train in Method Acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and in Film Performance at the New York Film Academy. Soon, Bollywood beckoned and he moved from the Big Apple to the bright lights and glamour of Mumbai. Now back in the UK Asad concentrates most of his time on Iconic Productions UK, a production company nurturing new emerging talent. 

He is also the Director and Lead role in '7 Welcome to London.'

Recently Rihanna had announced she is doing a collaboration on her talk that talk single "birthday cake", after speculations no one would have guessed it would be the very person that was convicted of laying their hands on her.

Rumours say that Chris Brown has recorded two verses for the 'Talk That Talk' track, one in which he raps and another featuring him singing.

This has certainly caused a stir over Twitter with serious debates occurring amongst Rihanna fans, this could be extremely good PR or it could turn into her worst nightmare, with fans calling her 'weak' and also saying that she has no self respect. Yet others say that its a good thing that they can put it past them and move on like mature adults.

TaZzZ started his career by producing a song called "How Could You" towards the end of 2005, this song was shown on music channels such as  MTV base and AKA. it was also played on Radio channels such as Radio 1. (link Below) 

After this success song, TaZzZ described himself as being lost as his had no guidance, but little did we know he was working away building his portfolio of music which led him to his new single "Radha" Featuring Kan-Dman, RKZ, Raxstar, Menis, Raver (PMG) and himself TaZzZ. 

Now that he has jumped back into the music game he is releasing track after track WHICH is EXACTLY what we want.

R.I.P Whitney Houston - 

She was an amazing Icon in the music industry.

Whitney Houstons's funeral will be streamed live ONLINE according to reports.

The Associated Press have reportedly struck a deal with the late singer's publicist, Kirsten Foster, which will allow them to film the ceremony and broadcast it online! With the event also set to be made available to broadcasters via satellite.

Houston's funeral will take place on Saturday 18th February in the New Jersey Church that she attended and sang as a child. The funeral will take place at 5pm (GMT), which is 12pm (EST), in Newark's New Hope Baptist Church. The Singers body has flown from California to Newark on Monday 13th February and was driven to the funeral home in a gold hearse.

Houston passed away last Saturday 11th February at the age of 48, after she was discovered underwater and unconscious in a bath at a hotel in Beverly Hills.

Though it has been widely reported that she died as a result of an overdose of Xanax and other prescription drugs mixed with alcohol, police have said it may take up to eight weeks for her cause of death to be formally confirmed.

A police spokesman has said that although prescription drugs were present in the singers's room, reports that they were involved in her death were still only "Rumours and Speculation"

At The Grammys 


Jennifer Hudson gave a heart warming send off to Whitney Houston by performing the hit single 'I will always love you' such a touching performance left Jennifer Hudson overwhelmed and tearful, it was a beautiful way to say goodbye to such a musical legend.

Alicia Keys and Bonnie Raitt didnt let us forget about the late Etta James who we sadly lost in January touching us all with such an amazing performance but was overshadowed by Whitney Houstons death.
